The Brazilian defender was forced off with a little of the first 45 minutes left to play in Saturday's European cup final.

Veteran defender Thiago Silva handed Chelsea a massive scare in Saturday night's Champions League final against Manchester City after having his spell cut short. The 36-year-old center-back was forced off a few minutes before half time after picking up what appears to be a muscle injury.

Having proved to be a realiable disciple in the heart of the Chelsea defense since his arrival from Paris Saint-Germain, Thiago Silva was lined up alongside Antonio Rudiger in the heart of the Blues' defense in the night's epic clash. Despite the advancements made by their Premier Leagur rivals, they were able to hold their grounds and quell one threat after the other with the likes of Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne all coming close to finding the target.

Inside the 38th minute, Silva was pictured with a grimace on his face as he clutched onto his left thigh. After the two teams had had a water break to deal with the heat inside Porto's Estado do Dragao, the Brazilian defender was taken off, making way for Andreas Christensen to fill in the vacant slot at the back.

Silva was subsequently pictured with his hands covering face in agony on the Chelsea bench. He ends the season with 33 appearance for Chelsea in the 2020-21 campaign.
