The team's issues in front of goal would prompt the search of an option to replace Rasmus Hojlund, but fans may not be happy with the team's choice,

As we head into the final month of the year, the winter transfer window is bound to keep fans glued to their devices waiting for their teams to make a move. Apparently, some of those teams are already working on potential deals, or at least looking into their options.

One of those clubs is none other than Manchester United, who would be willing to lure in one of their former foes to Old Trafford. Nonetheless, they will need to consider all their options before pushing for a move, as the player in question does not have the best reputation among Premier League fans.

According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, the club has made initial inquiries to RB Leipzig about Timo Werner's services. No bid has been submitted as of now, but the initial contacts have already been made by the English side.

Plettenberg's report also hints that Real Madrid have been linked to the footballer, although no contacts between the German club and Los Merengues have taken place.

Werner played two seasons for Chelsea, having a role in 89 of the Blues' matches across all competitions. While at Stamford Bridge, the footballer scored 23 goals and handed out 17 assists, but he also experienced a massive goalscoring drought during those seasons, which was decisive to see him leave the London-based club.

It is yet to be seen if Manchester United go all in for his signing, but it will certainly be interesting to see how fans react to this potential move.
