The Ligue 1 champions are reportedly looking to make a swoop for the wantaway Bayern Munich superstar.

Paris Saint-Germain are on the verge of hijacking Robert Lewandowski's move to Barcelona, multiple reports have revealed. The Polish striker is believed to be closing in on a move to Barcelona from Bayern Munich in a three-year deal but could reconsider his decision with the French club set to enter the race.

After inspiring Bayern to another Bundesliga title, the club has confirmed that their star man has put in a transfer request to secure a move elsewhere. Amid the uncertainty, the player's agent Pini Zahavi has revealed that the has "always dreamed" of completing a switch to Camp Nou.

However, the Bavarians are adamant to part ways with the he 33-year-old star with no apparent replacement in sight. Instead, the club's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has been tasked to meet the forward face-to-face at his holiday home in Mallorca to convince him to stay, as per a report by Marca.

It remains unclear whether there have been any negotiations between Barcelona and Bayern Munich but reports from Germany suggest that the former's financial crisis will not allow them to meet Bayern's £43million valuation of Lewandowski. Although not definitive, the Blaugrana may be forced to give up in their pursuit despite Xavi giving his blessings for the Polish striker's recruitment.

According to Foot Mercato, Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have now entered the fray for Lewandowski. The report suggest that the French capital outfit are ready to prise Barcelona out of a deal for the striker as they are in the market for a striker that "compliments" their own talisman Kylian Mbappe. Relatively, Premier League powerhouses Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with moves for the ex-Borussia Dortmund star.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are looking to do business quickly and have already signed Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane to bolster their attacking ranks. The
