The first two months of the 2017-18 season haven't been what Real Madrid fans expected...and the third one kicked off with a baffling result.
Wednesday's 3-1 loss against Tottenham not put all of Los Blancos' flaws on display, but also ended a massive streak for the current UEFA Champions League title holders.
It had been five years since Real Madrid's most recent loss in the current stage of the competition. Who was their opponent back then? None other than Jurgen Klopp's Borussia Dortmund.

If that wasn't enough reason for Real Madrid fans to be angry, today's result wounded their pride deeply due to another fact.
1 - Tottenham's 3-1 victory was Real Madrid’s biggest loss in a CL group game since November 2008, losing 2-0 against Juventus. Slump. pic.twitter.com/HCn5kihCWQ

This will be a game Cristiano Ronaldo will want to forget about quickly, despite scoring Real Madrid's goal.

Needless to say, this game gave Spurs' fans reason to believe in their chances of making it big in the continental tournament.
