Scandals are overshadowing Luis Suarez's greatness at Liverpool. His place seems too big to fill but the Reds could consider anything for the EPL's most troublesome player.
Luis Suarez got the full support of Liverpool FC during the race row involving Patrice Evra. However, the handshaking incident which occurred last weekend at the Theatre of Dreams appears too damaging for Liverpool to take.

Suarez refused to shake Evra’s hand at the start of the game. This eventually provoked reaction from the Manchester United defender and from the public in general.

In the aftermath of the match, Sir Alex Ferguson had no sympathy for troublemaker Luis Suarez. The highly respected Scot told Sky Sports the following:

“That certain player should not be allowed to play for Liverpool again. With the history that club has got, and he does that in this city today - he could have caused a riot.

“I was really disappointed in that guy. It was terrible, what he did.

“It created a tension - you've seen the referee, he didn't know what to do about it. It caught him off-guard, and it was a terrible start to the game. There was a terrible atmosphere created.”

During the race row which commenced last year, Luis Suarez and Liverpool fought to prove that the player is not racist as many believe. However, Johnny Evans of Manchester United is certain that the Uruguayan has a problem with the issue of race.

Like Ferguson, Evans wasn’t impressed by Luis Suarez’s idea of not shaking Patrice Evra’s hand last Saturday. The young defender revealed:

“We had been talking about it in the changing-room and whether he [Evra] would shake his [Suarez’s] hand,” said Evans.

“Myself and a few other players said to Patrice ‘just shake his hand, because you have nothing to be ashamed of or hide’. I said ‘I think if you offer a handshake then you’ll come out with a lot of respect’.

“It’s disappointing he [Suarez] didn’t shake his hand because Patrice was the one who has been racially abused. I think it could have ended there and then with a handshake.”

Many football followers believe that Luis Suarez's handshake scandal has been blown out of proportion as the attention given by the media is overshadowing the real action on the pitch. Meanwhile, some Liverpool fans have gone in full support of Suarez. They insist that Manchester United's Patrice Evra is actually the bad guy who uses malice to stain the image of the Uruguayan striker.

However, if this set of fans offer refuge to Luis Suarez, Liverpool chief Ian Ayre has no place and no time to back the former Ajax goal poacher. Ayre couldn’t help but express his frustration despite Luis Suarez’s eventual apology:

“We are extremely disappointed with Luis Suarez. He has not only let himself down but also Kenny Dalglish, his team-mates and the club.

“It has been made absolutely clear to Suarez that his behaviour was not acceptable. He has now apologised.

“However, all of us have a duty to behave in a responsible manner. We hope that he now understands what is expected of anyone representing Liverpool Football Club.”

After humiliating the Merseyside Reds, Luis Suarez might need to prepare for a quick end to his career at Anfield. Only superhero efforts and angelic attitudes may help him correct his stained image and put his criticis around the world to bed.
